On August 21, the "Powder-coating Technical Pain-points Seminar (Pearl River Delta)" hosted by Tucoat was held in Foshan. As a dedicated player in the field of metallic effect pigments, Sunrise New Materials was invited to attend the event. Gu Shengjun, Deputy General Manager and R&D Director of the company, delivered a keynote speech and joined 150 industry practitioners present in discussing solutions to industry challenges.

01 Seminar on Solving Technical Pain Points

This seminar brought together benchmark enterprises from the upstream and downstream of the powder coating industry, covering the full value chain — raw materials, additives, equipment, processes, and pre-treatment — from defoaming and curing systems and wax powder additives to metallic pigments, bonding equipment, and coil coating polyesters, and further to matting additives, substrate pre-treatment, and powder spray booths, comprehensively empowering enterprises to upgrade their technologies and break free from low-price, cut-throat competition.

02 Keynote Speech

Gu Shengjun from Sunrise New Materials delivered a keynote speech titled "Metallic Effect Pigments Help Powder Coatings Break Through Application Bottlenecks," addressing four core pain points that have long plagued the industry:

1.Differences in charging characteristics between metallic pigments and base powders cause unstable color consistency during spraying.

2.Fine-particle metallic pigments exhibit poor corrosion resistance.

3.The metallic color effect of powder coatings suffers from low color saturation.

4.The leveling and orientation performance of metallic pigments in powder coatings is inferior to that in liquid coatings.

To meet application demands across various product fields, Sunrise offers a diversified pigment portfolio — aluminum silver powders, colored aluminum pigments, optically variable materials, and pigment carbon black — covering multiple applications such as anti-corrosion, weather resistance, decoration, and coloration.

During this Foshan event, the Sunrise team conducted in-depth exchanges with customers and peers on-site to explore more application possibilities of metallic effect pigments in powder coatings.

Facing the market trend of the fully accelerating "paint-to-powder" conversion, Sunrise New Materials will continue to join hands with industry peers to address industrial pain points through technological innovation, accelerate the commercialization of research outcomes, and jointly create a new blueprint for industry development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
